Moscow Domodedovo Airport opened a flyover with a drop-off zone

14 February, 2019. Domodedovo, Moscow region. Moscow Domodedovo Airport has built an overpass with a convenient drop-off and pick-up zone located just 30 meters from the terminal.

Now after entering the airport’s territory from the A-105 road drivers arriving from Moscow get to a six-lane flyover with an additional lane for a drop-off and pick-up. The flyover runs along terminal bypassing a multilevel car parking and then comes down to the federal highway leading back to the capital. The road adjoins a 300 meters pedestrian zone.

Domodedovo’s flyover is a complex engineering structure. Its length amounts to 500 meters; its width is 30 meters, and its traffic capacity equals 28 000 cars per day. The road also allows large vehicles of 25 tons per axle. The company employed pre-stressed concrete in the construction process decreasing vertical clearances and ensuring high load limits. Moreover, modern road construction technologies minimize the number of pavement joints.

The company is planning on opening a new entrance lobby to ensure seamless traveling experience. The road is a part of an upcoming two-level interchange which will allow splitting up cars of arriving and departing passengers.
